Dental Surgeries

Bandlish & Auplish Dentistry

Harmont House, 20 Harley St, Marylebone, London W1G 9PH, UK – 020 7436 9804

Bobby Bandlish is an exceptionally skilled dentist and a delightful man. Our family has been going to his practice for over a decade and really appreciate his friendly, helpful approach and the great quality of care. He is brilliant with pain relief - when my needle-phobic kids were young, he would numb their mouths without them even realising it had happened! My husband has also had excellent treatment from Geeta Auplish. Both are highly recommended.

I was steered there by close friends as a broken tooth needed prompt action. B&A kindly squeezed in an emergency appointment where Bobby explained the options, made his recommendations and solved the problem. Absolutely 5 Star Service!

Knightsbridge Doctors

15 Basil Mansions, Basil St, Knightsbridge, London SW3 1AP, UK – 020 7589 8965

Absolutely fantastic. Every person I saw/spoke to was friendly, courteous and professional. Efficient throughout my whole experience. From checking in, to the physical, the xrays and vaccinations. Pleasant atmosphere and waiting area, including water jugs and cups, which I thought was a nice touch.

Home looking clinic specialising in visa medical checks... Very pricey because of the proximity to city center

St. Thomas' Hospital

Westminster Bridge Rd, Lambeth, London SE1 7EH, UK – 020 7188 7188

Staff on the whole great. Hygiene on refurbished Stephen ward disgusting to say the least. Toilets blocked. 4 bays under infection quarantine, no heating. No hygiene products in bathrooms. 3 of 4 lifts out of order What was the point of relocating patients into an unfinished ward? On top of all that still waiting after 3 weeks for an urgent procedure which at the time of review has been cancelled twice Apart from that a huge improvement on my previous hospital. I cannot praise the majority of the nursing staff highly enough though. 4 stars not 3 as previously posted. My bad.!!

This, although sounds odd, was my best experience on an Emergency Department. When I arrived, I was visibly distressed. The lady who was on reception was lovely and immediately got the Sister on duty who ushered me to a room so I could have some privacy. The Psych Liaison was brilliant and got me a bed on a ward really quickly. My experience on Evan Jones ward was just as positive.

University College Hospital at Westmoreland Street

16-18 Westmoreland St, Marylebone, London W1G 8PH, UK – 020 3456 7898

Staff seem very more focused on getting the paperwork done rather than taking taking a moment to acknowledge people. Very target driven particularly in comparison to some other London hospitals that I have been to. A little customer service related training would go a long way! The food in the canteen was... (I’ll put it down to Hospital aliment) not worth the money. Parking is limited and dang expensive (street parking only) rather commute if you are able to.

I was satisfied with the eye department.

The Lister Hospital

Chelsea Bridge Rd, London SW1W 8RH, UK – 020 7730 7733

Find Local Churches & Places of Worship

St Giles-in-the-Fields

60 St Giles High St, London WC2H 8LG, UK – 020 7240 2532

Visited at around the evening, and is possibly missed any visiting events. The church is great and there's a little park and garden at the back. It's nice and quiet, comparing to the feeling of tired walking around the noise busy streets around the area. Maybe I should research for some fact about the church before writing this guide. I did have a good time spending few minutes sitting there.

There is famous century old High school in South India named after Dudley. Here is a monument.

Euston Church

Church of Christ The King, Gordon Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1H 0AG, UK

Originally Irving's church now consists of English chapel related to Forward in Faith which is usually open and the main church which is open during service time only. It is good to go and pray at the small but very beautiful church anytime.

A small church neighboring the UCL main campus. Has that old small church feel

St Marks Church Kennington

Beautiful place. Huge. Great location. Very welcoming

Kazan Restaurant

93-94 Wilton Rd, Lillington and Longmoore Gardens, London SW1V 1DW, UK – 020 7233 7100

We went to Kazan restaurant again, this time to accompany a friend visiting from Turkey, and who was longing for some Turkish food. He was delighted from the moment he walked in, the warm welcome, the waiter spoke to him Turkish. They had a lively conversation about the menu, and the restaurant gladly agreed to tweak the side dish of the doner kebab and switch to bulgur. The service was outstanding, and the food absolutely delicious. Our Turkish friend was delighted, saying that the food is authentic, just the way he likes it in Istanbul.

Tasty food, but waitress brought out the wrong food ten million times. Not snappy enough and the inside had too many flies - same for the bathroom - decor is fake looking, as it's not clean with so many insects and sticky when you sit down. The food is delicious do not get me wrong. However, the prices do not reflect the service either. They were clueless and one of the waiters couldn't even tell the people next to us (American) diners what halloumi was. They could barely explain anything. People will have questions, so be prepared and well trained. Not everyone will know what is what on the menu. This is part of the service. You should be able to explain the menu clearly.

Sartori Restaurant & Pizzeria

15 Great Newport St, London WC2H 7JE, UK – 020 7836 6308

Traditional Italian food. Tasty pizza and pasta. The price is very affordable, and the staff are very attentive. However, bookings are not accepted and it is usually very crowded, so it's better to arrive before peak time hours.

Great food. Authentic taste. Pizzas are amazing. Staff are friendly and welcoming. All round brilliant restaurant!

Nursery and Preschools

MACE Montessori Nursery School

38-42 Millman St, London WC1N 3EW, UK – 020 7242 5842

Miss Chris-Jayne and her team at the nursery was nothing but professional and welcoming. I felt at ease allowing my son to participate in their classroom activities. The teachers were warm and welcoming, where I found the children interacting and having such a wonderful time. Clearly, a lot of hard work and thought in this bright and colourful nursery is carried out to ensure the best possible environment for our children to be nurtured at such a crucial learning age. I thoroughly recommend to all!

Very happy with my sons progress at the nursery, the teachers have done a great job with him, he is very independent, well behaved and very sociable since he started the nursery. I am very appreciative to the teachers for the progress he has shown. When I pick him up at 6pm I can see he has had a great playful day as when we go home all he wants to do is rest and sleep. Highly recommend it.

City of London School for Girls

City of London School for Girls, St Giles Terrace, Barbican, London EC2Y 8BB, UK – 020 7847 5500

My daughter currently attends but has been very unwell with a long term condition. The way the staff have consistently "gone the extra mile" for her and us shows a level of care that is exceptional. As a parent that is the most important thing and I would happily recommend the school to anyone considering sending their daughter there.

City of London School for Girls is a non-denominational, independent day school, for girls aged 7 to 18, based in the London Square Mile. The School was established by the Corporation of the City of London with money from a bequest from William Ward of Brixton to provide education for girls that “would correspond, as near as may be, to the City of London School”. The school opened in Carmelite Street in 1894 and moved to the present premises in the Barbican in 1969.

Westminster School

Little Dean's Yard, Great Smith St, Westminster, London SW1P 3PF, UK – 020 7963 1000

Westminster’s origins can be traced to a charity school established by the Benedictine monks of Westminster Abbey. Its continuous existence is certain from the early fourteenth century. After the dissolution of the monasteries in 1540, Henry VIII personally ensured the School’s survival by statute. Elizabeth I, confirmed royal patronage in 1560 and is celebrated as the School’s Foundress. For several hundred years the School continued to be joined with Westminster Abbey, forming one collegiate foundation, until the 1868 Public Schools Act gave the School independence. Then, in 1943, the School expanded its educational scope by forming the Under School, educating boys aged 7-11. Initially both sections of the School shared a site, as the Under School began with just 17 boys. However, we experienced fairly rapid growth and by 1950 were educating 80 boys. So, in 1951, we secured our own premises in Eccleston Square. Yet as pupil numbers continued to increase during the sixties and seventies it became apparent that larger premises were required and in 1981 the Under School moved again to its present site overlooking the Westminster playing fields in Vincent Square.

As a pupil at Westminster I really like the school. Great atmosphere as well as brilliant teaching
